As we already announced back in September, on January 18, 2019, the Canis Majoris Foundation celebrates the VI Annual Conference and the VII Gala for the Elena Pessino Gómez del Campo Scholarships, so as from Monday, January 14, various activities will be carried out that include part of the work carried out by the Foundation.
These activities are collected on the web www.semanamajoris.es where you can travel along the stars to each of the activities that take place throughout Majoris week and participate by making your observations.
On each day of the week we will carry out an activity that will culminate with the celebration of the Annual Conference, where this year we will reflect on the role of women in the 21st century and feminism from a perspective of acceleration and engine of social change.
Here is a brief summary of the activities that we will develop throughout the week:
Monday January 14: For the first time, several authors of children’s books will come together under the same publication, for which an exhibition will be held under the title “Dragonario de Dragones Lectores “ (Spanish for Dragonary of Dragon Readers), that will bring together all the illustrations of the publication by inviting all its authors.
Tuesday, January 15: The Elena Pessino Gómez del Campo Neuroscience Laboratory will open its doors to 6 primary students to become scientists for a day. With this activity we intend to bring science closer to the youngest, putting them in the shoes of our researchers.
Wednesday, January 16: The Canis Majoris Foundation’s Healthcare Department will host the different associations that specialize in Animal Assisted Therapy to discuss strategies in sessions aimed at Mental Health, a work meeting to be held for the first time in Spain.
Thursday, January 17: A group of experts will meet to discuss and explain “Human Rights and Mental Health. A proposal for the 21st century.” The panel will be coordinatod by Doctor in Psychiatry, Ángeles Roig.
Friday January 18: Under the title “Women in the 21st century: towards an egalitarian world “, three expert women in the field, coordinated by the Doctor in Journalism and Head of Equality of TVE’s Information Services, Alicia Gómez Montano, will update us on this topic of greal current relevance that will without doubt, not leave anyone indifferent.
