Mae Mougin holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The San Francisco Art Institute.
She is a Producer, Ceramic Artist and former Community Chair of Robert Wilson’s Watermill Center in Watermill, New York. A founding member of The Clay Art Guild of The Hamptons. A Lieutenant in East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue.
Mae with her husband Fashion Photographer Claude Mougin, she produced album covers, fashion shoots and commercials in Los Angeles and New York for 25 years. Together they raised 3 children in their loft in Chelsea.
Mae moved full time to Southampton in 2000 creating Mae Mougin Porcelain. A bespoke collection of handmade functional art. Her work has been featured in Vogue, O at Home, Hamptons Cottage & Garden and The East Hampton Star. Commissions for private clients designing private dinnerware globally.
Mae is currently a Fellow of The Watermill Center. Her outreach and networking skills have connected members of the community to support nonprofits of the Arts. She continues to volunteer her time to support her community.
Mae’s current project, Waterproof, a 30 minute short documentary of the crusade of one family and The Town of East Hampton’s commitment to water safety in the Ocean, premiered at The Hamptons Film Festival in October 2019. The film is currently being screened at Film Festivals in The US.
