On January 18, 2019, the VI Canis Majoris Foundation Annual Conference and the VII Gala for the delivery of the Elena Pessino Gómez del Campo Scholarships in the Assembly Hall of the Ateneo de Madrid.
At 4:00 pm the VI Annual Conference began under the title “The Women’s Century: Advances towards a more egalitarian world”, coordinated by journalist and Equality Editor of TVE services, Dr. Alicia Gómez Montano. This year, the Canis Majoris Foundation welcomed speakers of the stature of Laura Freixas, Laura Baena and Lina Gálvez, who tried to elucidate the different aspects that have led to the feminist revolution that we have been experiencing since the end of 2017 and that, unlike previously, crosses many social layers. In the words of Alicia Gómez Montano: “A transversal movement that has surprised all and sundry, one that is changing behavior, legislation, labor relations and even languages.”
At 7:00 pm, the VII Elena Pessino Gómez del Campo Scholarship Gala began. This year, 11 scholarships have been awarded to university students with functional diversity to help them financially to develop fully in their higher education.
