On January 17, 2020, the VII Annual Conference of the Canis Majoris Foundation and the VIII Gala of Delivery of the Elena Pessino Gómez del Campo Scholarships at the Caixa Forum Auditorium in Madrid.
At 4:30 p.m., the VII Annual Conference began under the title “Climate Change: the wounded planet”, coordinated by the journalist and Equality Editor of TVE services, Dr. Alicia Gómez Montano.
This year in order to try to elucidate the causes that have led our planet to its current critical situation, the Canis Majoris Foundation invited Joan Groizard (General Director of the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving), Jorge Cortina (Economist specializing in renewable energy and climate change), María Laín (Young climate activist), David Vieites (Researcher at the National Museum of Natural Sciences and Director of the Department of Biogeography and Global Change of the CSIC) and Pablo Urbano (Co-Founder of the social company AUARA).
At 7:00 p.m. the VIII Gala of the Elena Pessino Gómez del Campo Scholarships began. This year, 11 scholarships have been awarded to university students with functional diversity to help them financially in order to fully develop in their higher education.
