On July 17, 2019, at 6:00 p.m., in the Cuarta Pared (Fourth Wall) theater, the Canis Majoris Foundation celebrated the presentation of the book titled “Theater as a tool of change ”.
The opening presentation was given by Dr. Valentín Corces, Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Canis Majoris Foundation and Director of Publications, with a few words about the launch of the publication as part of the “Pensamientos Majoris” (Majoris Thoughts) collection. Actress and journalist, Rosa Puga Davila, coordinator of the book, presented each of the authors; David Ojeda, Professor at the Royal School of Dramatic Arts (RESAD) and Director of the Palmyra Theater Company, Denis Rafter, actor teacher, Stage director and theater actor, Domingo Ortega, Dramatic Interpretation Professor at the RESAD, Gregorio Pastor, Head of the Department of Movement of the RESAD and Director of the Theater Area at the Spanish Association for the Prevention of Bullying (AEPAE) and Iván Alvarado, Dr. in Anthropology and Professor of the Youth Area of the Cuarto Pared theater school, who briefly presented the content of their work and what it had meant for them to participate in this edition.
Following this a colloquium was held where the audience participated very actively, exposing their ideas and settling doubts with questions posed to the authors, all of this led to a very interesting and enriching debate which dealt with inclusion theater, social theater and the responsibility of theater in current times.
Once the event was over, and after the appropriate thanks were given, the debate continued outside the room becoming even more lively with the added component of the catering service. The presentation was very well received, reaching almost full capacity and with a resounding success in the sale of the book.
