We celebrated the 5th edition of the Canis Majoris Foundation Camp

Last weekend we celebrated the 5th edition of the Majoris Camp with 14 children living in centers run by Community of Madrid.

As a novelty, this year we decided to take a different approach than in previous years, by changing the format from camping to rural accommodation in which, for almost three days, the children were able to enjoy workshops, games and various activities in contact with nature in a very familiar environment, without forgetting the therapeutic aspect of this initiative. It is important for children who are in these situations to participate in daily routines as if it were their own home and share experiences outside their usual environment thereby offering them an opportunity to meet other children who come from different realities and make new friends.

We, the workers at the Canis Majoris Foundation along with the FCM President  take care of them, organize the camp, choose the destination, prepare the activities and, of course, the workshops with dogs, which are so well received among the youngest , as well as the elaboration of the menus.

It has been five years since we decided to launch this initiative and in these years we have continued contributing with the same level of enthusiasm or even more because we know the effect it has for them to be able to enjoy these summer camps. You can see it in their faces of joy and excitement from simply knowing that they are going to participate with us once again for another year.
