We commemorate World Book and Copyright Day

Today, April 23, World  Book and Copyright Day is celebrated. Today, as Cervantes, Shakespeare and Garcilaso de la Vega passed away, other eminent writers such as Maurice Druon, K. Laxness, Vladimir Nabokov, Josep Pla or Manuel Mejía Vallejo were born or died on this date. Coincidences that are at the very curious which have made this date, so symbolic for universal literature, therefore chosen by UNESCO to pay an international tribute to the book and its authors.

From here at the Canis Majoris Foundation, we help to encourage young people to discover the pleasure of reading, writing and drawing, and we do so through the Siboney Narrative and Painting Prize, which this year celebrates its sixth edition. In commemoration of this day, we publish our VideoBlog Majoris in which the coordinator of the event, the artist Paloma Johansson de Terry, explains what it is and why it is important.
