We present the prizes of the Siboney Narrative and Painting Contest

On May 31st and June 7th  2018, the award ceremony of the VI edition of the Siboney Narrative and Painting Awards was held by the Canis Majoris Foundation. The contest is organized annually in order to foster a taste for reading and drawing to minors living in welfare shelters of the Community of Madrid.

This year, we had 37 participants, boys and girls aged between 6 and 17, who have put all their enthusiasm and effort into the work. As a novelty, for this VI edition, more prizes have been issued among the categories of Narrative and Painting, the prizes are composed of drawing and reading material.

The work carried out will be compiled and published in the II Edition of “Siboney Tales”, maintaining its originality and respecting the graffiti of each story and the drawing made.

We hope to continue increasing the participation in the contest as this will be an indicator of the success of our actions, which are none other than continuing to work for those who need it most.

Our thanks to the staff of the centers of the Community of Madrid, the collaborators José Andrés Villota and Pilar Pérez, of the Association Friends of the Dragon Reader, Paloma Johansson, artist, and Laura Iris Gómez, professional makeup artist and the bookstores of the El Dragon lector (Dragon Reader), noting that without everyone’s work,  this would not have been possible.
